Esther McVey welcomes funding for a feasibility study into reopening of the Mid-Cheshire rail line

Fiona Bruce MP and I have been campaigning for some time for the Mid-Cheshire line to be reopened to passengers. In the Budget, the Chancellor announced funding for a feasibility study for the proposal. That is a positive step in the right direction and here the Secretary of State talks about the funding.

 The Canal & River Trust has been awarded £574,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to support a major repair and refurbishment project for the Anderton Boat Lift, the ‘Cathedral of the Canals’ in news welcomed by MP, Esther McVey who is a regular visitor to the attraction.
