Many people who live close by, and in the wider community will be aware of the planning application made by Mobberley Developments to redevelop the Mobberley Riding School site on Newton Hall Lane. Their proposal was to demolish the existing buildings and erect a church meeting hall (Use Class D1) with associated access, parking, landscaping and infrastructure at the site. The application was refused by Cheshire East Council Planning Department in February 2017.
Following that refusal, the applicant submitted an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate. The appeal took the form of a public hearing were the applicant, the Council and members of the public who had an interest in the development, whether in support or against could make their case to the Inspector. Following that hearing, and considering all the representations he received, and along with planning law and planning guidance the Planning Inspector has concluded that the appeal should be dismissed.
