Esther McVey will be the Conservative Party candidate for Tatton at the next general election.
Ms McVey appeared before Tatton Conservative Association Executive Council, where she was unanimously re-selected. She has been MP for the area since 2017.
Ms McVey said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been re-selected as the Conservative Party candidate for Tatton, it is a real honour and privilege.
“I am very lucky to live in such a great area of Cheshire with constituents who are entrepreneurial, pragmatic and community spirited. But I know that many feel under assault from this government - whether that’s making conditions more challenging for businesses or the high level of taxes which is destroying jobs and making people worse off. I am pleased to be able to continue to support local residents and fight to keep the Tatton constituency a fantastic place to live.
“I also look forward to doing all I can to support Kemi Badenoch to become Prime Minister.”

The next general election must take place no later than August 15, 2029.
